Saturdays and Hockey Night in Canada ///Les samedis et la Soirée du hockey

The high point of every week was always the hockey game on television Saturday nights at 8 p.m. it was a rite of passage to become old enough to be allowed to stay up and watch the entire game (although I often watched from the top of the stairs, which overlooked the living room). Our heroes were right there in front of us on the screen, and we all dreamed of winning the Stanley Cup.

///Le point culminant de la semaine était toujours le match de hockey à la télévision le samedi soir à 20 h 00. C’était un rite de passage de vieillir assez pour pouvoir regarder tout le match sans devoir aller se coucher (bien que j’ai souvent regardé la fin du match du haut des escaliers, qui donnaient sur le salon. Nos héros défilaient pour nous sur le petit écran, et on rêvait tous de gagner la Coupe Stanley.
