It seems that nothing is sacred anymore, especially not traditions. The NHL is removing goal judges from their position behind the nets.

I would imagine some people said the same thing when the Zambonie was invented. No more flooding the ice with a hose and shovels...the horror!
I'm sdure Frank Zamboni ran into a lot of criticism, was told that jobs would be lost etc...
