Good But Dangerous ///Bon mais dangereux

A relatively new goalie to our co-ed league, David, came out again this Friday, and played a whale of a game. He stoned me half a dozen times and I was only able to get one past him, on a cross-crease move where I stuffed it low short side.

However, the game itself was, to me, marred by his dangerous antics. I had seen them in a few previous games but this time it was clear to me that this guy plays on the edge: he rushes out to get loose pucks and places himself in the skater's lane, almost hoping for a collision.

Later, he came far out of his crease to challenge Mike and ran into him, and as both went down I went over to tell David: "That, Sir, was a dangerous play". His only response was: "I was going for the puck". Luckily, Mike wasn't seriously hurt.

I disagree with using such tactics, especially in friendly hockey games.

Maybe David has too much "hockey amor". Can it be that there is such a thing as "too much" hockey amor?

I don't believe so. Intensity and love should not be confused. This guy simply has a wild streak.
